Steelhead Trout are a variation of rainbow trout that tends to have a slightly lower fat content and a larger size. Raised in lake cages around Manitoulin Island, steelhead is sold fresh as skin-on, deboned fillets in 1 lb increments.
Steelhead Trout is high in vitamins and omega-3s and is excellent pan-fried, baked or grilled. It is also a great fish for smoking.
